Tina Frias has proven to be a pillar of authority, source of wisdom, and positive influence throughout the State of Nevada. She holds nearly two decades of experience spanning management, law and politics, including working on campaigns and for the late Nevada Sen. Harry Reid in Washington D.C.  She currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for the Southern Nevada Home Builders Association (SNHBA). Her legal skills, executive leadership, effectiveness, and positive rapport make her a crucial asset, as the SNHBA continues to bring awareness to policymakers on challenges facing the homebuilding industry and on solutions to support the homebuilders in meeting the housing needs of Nevada.
Prior to joining SNHBA, Tina served as a Senior Director of Aviation at the Clark County Department of Aviation. She has extensive experience in advocating for federal, state, and local policies, and held executive oversight of procurement procedures and contracts, construction bid processes, recruitments, labor relations, risk management, Disadvantaged Business Enterprise programs, strategic planning, employee engagement, sustainability, and culture at Harry Reid International Airport. Frias has held several positions focused on legislation and policy, including serving as a Legal Policy Analyst for the former Nevada State Speaker and as a Legal Fellow for late Sen. Majority Leader Harry Reid.
Tina has advised on major policy issues and has developed bill drafts and amendments. She has worked on multiple campaigns and held various legal clerkships. Frias values her public service accomplishments and contributions to the community. In her prior role, as Senior Director of Aviation, she implemented a program to combat human trafficking, which included employee education, widespread awareness campaigns and practical applications such as displaying human trafficking awareness messaging within the airport restroom stalls. Additionally, she pioneered the use of MagnusMode, an accessibility app that assists individuals on the Autism spectrum. This initiative aims to better support those in need at the airport, increase Autism Awareness and aid families requiring extra assistance.
Tina has demonstrated a commitment to improving the lives of individuals within the community, aiming to leave no one person behind. This commitment continues as SNHBA hosts its Professional Women in Building Council (PWB), under her guidance. This council empowers female leaders within the building industry to advance women's progress by offering scholarships, mentoring, networking opportunities and more, furthering their mission to support women in the field. Her unwavering dedication to community improvement and her significant role in local initiatives position her as a prominent figure in the region. Ensuring that as the Southern Nevada, population and local economy grow, new housing develops sustainably and efficiently while promoting community is an endeavor that is vital to Tina and to the SNHBA.
Recently, Frias was appointed as a Board member for the Southern Nevada Trades High School (SNTHS), an independent, tuition-free public charter school open to all students. Founded through a partnership between local industries and educators, SNTHS offers a quality education designed to prepare Las Vegas high school students for both college and careers in construction-related professionsTina provides support to HomeAid Southern Nevada, the 501c3 arm of SNHBA, which helps those experiencing homelessness through housing development and community engagement.
Tina earned a dual bachelor’s degree in political science and philosophy from California Baptist University, cum laude. She holds a Juris Doctor degree from the William S. Boyd School of Law at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, and is a member of the State Bar of Nevada. She is admitted to practice law in all state and federal courts in Nevada. Tina Frias is also a wife and devoted mother to two young children, one whom is of school-aged and enrolled in the Clark County School District. Frias enjoys jogging, cooking, traveling, sharing special experiences with her husband, and making memories with family and close friends.
